1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
1¼ cup firmly packed brown sugar
½ cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 Tbsp milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
1¾ cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt (optional)
2½ cups Quaker Oats (quick or old fashioned), uncooked
1-12oz package (2 cups) Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate
morsels
1 cup coarsely chopped nuts, optional

| Instructions: |
Preheat oven to
375 degrees. Beat butter and sugars until creamy. Add milk, eggs
and vanilla; beat well. Add flour, baking soda and salt; mix well.
Stir in oats, chocolate morsels and nuts; mix well. Drop by rounded
tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 9-10 minutes for
a chewy cookie or 12-13 minutes for a crisp cookie. Cool 1 minute
on cookie sheets; remove to wire rack. Cool completely.
Makes about 5 dozen 2½ inch cookies.
